224CITY ATTORNEYThe City Attorney's Office provides legal advice to all components of the City through in-house legal counsel, assigns external legal counsel as appropriate, and is responsible for prosecuting Lakewood Municipal Code violations in Municipal Court.
225CITY CLERKThe City Clerk's Office is responsibile for all regular and special municipal elections; prepares City Council agendas, meeting minutes; assists with the application and interview process for the City's regulatory boards and commissions; primary receptionist for the entire City; passport acceptance service (including photos); public records requests; legal notices for publication;, and record keeper for all City contracts and agreements. The City Clerk's Office is responsible for issuing the following licenses and permits: liquor, nonalcoholic dance club, pawnbroker, amusement arcade, Christmas tree lots, parade, oversize moving, massage parlor, adult business, escort services, block parties and dog licenses. The City Clerk's Office is responsible for updates to the Municipal Code.
226CITY MANAGERThe City Manager's Office sets the standards for the City organization to provide quality services to the public through citizen communication, economic development and sustainability, graphic designs, oversight of all City Departments, public information, printing services, and television services.
227COMMUNITY RESOURCESCommunity Resources is responsible for family services, golf courses, heritage, culture, and arts activities, recreation facilities and programming, regional parks and urban park planning, construction and maintenance.
228EMPLOYEE RELATIONSEmployee Relation directs functions related to recruiting, interviewing, training, policy development and interpretation, Citywide staffing, budget, unemployment, performance management, and new employee on-boarding efforts. The Department provides oversight and administration of all employee compensation and benefits plans including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement and deferred compensation.
229FINANCEFinance is responsible for all general accounting functions; Citywide budget coordination; fiscal management; investments; mailroom; manages City's real property; payroll; public improvement fee collection; purchasing services; tax revenue administration, collection and enforcement; treasury; and utility billing.
230INFORMATION TECHNOLOGYInformation Technology administers business system services, community broadband, cyber-security, network service, radio communication, and software services to ensure the City's information and communication systems maximize the services that the City provides to its residents and businesses.
231MAYOR & CITY COUNCILThis is the City's elected officials that set policy and policy direction.
232MUNICIPAL COURTMunicipal Court provides fair and appropriate resolutions of municipal code violations through the judicial process. Court Marshals provide security to the Public Safety Building, transportation of prisoners and documents, and processes and executes warrants. Probation Services provides investigation and evaluation of court referred cases, sentencing recommendations, and supervision of offenders. The Violations Bureau processes and manages all cases filed in the Municipal Court, manages all court records, fee and restitution notification, and manages an active jury pool.
233NON-DEPARTMENTALThis is for those items that cannot be specifically tied to a given Department such as management of Citywide benefits, debt obligations, and self-insurances.
234PLANNING & PUBLIC WORKSPlanning & Public Works provides building plan review and inspection, comprehensive planning, construction inspection, development review, engineering, environmental services, fleet management, permitting, street and utility maintenance, and traffic engineering.
235POLICE Police protect and serve the community through animal control, code enforcement, criminal identification, investigations of crimes against persons or property, patrol services, records management, and other support services.
